Sowing Seeds

This spring the kids planted all different kinds of seeds and watched them grow. We talked about the 3 things every seed needs to grow. A few of the plants didn't make it, but this pot of seeds that Matthew planted survived & this is what grew! I thought it was too beautiful not to share.

The Trophy

Swim Champs were Saturday and Madison swam her little heart out. The pool was a meter and a half longer (but we didn't tell her that). Butterfly she came in 2nd to last but swam the stroke beautifully...it is not her favorite stroke because it is so difficult but she does it well for an 8 year old. She won her heat and placed 5th or 6th in breastroke. I think it was her best time. It is her favorite stroke & she does it so well. We also had the end of the season party on Sunday. Madison was awarded best attendance and also most improved. Here's a shot of her with the team trophy. We hope she continues to love swimming...it's a great sport!

Championships

Here is Madison's swim picture and team picture...sorry they are blurry but they are pictures of pictures. Madison qualified for Division Championships in Breaststroke and Butterfly and will be swimming tomorrow morning. We are real excited for her.

**Madison is in the front row, all the way on the right.

UPDATE on Bill's Achilles: Bill saw the doctor yesterday & had the cast removed. He is in a walking boot and is walking around the house now, but still uses his crutches out of the house. The stitches will stay in for a couple weeks but overall the ankle looks great. Doc said he is already ahead of schedule & he expects a quick recovery. I would say this is true since when I was working, people who had achilles surgery were typically not walking and in a cast for 6 weeks! In the mean time I am Bill's chauffeur for the next 3 weeks, driving him to work & picking him up. Bill's doing great...but to be honest, I am exhausted!!!

Adrienne's Big News

What a big girl my little "A" is! She let her daddy "gently" pull out her troublesome tooth last night as she cried and laughed simultaneously. The tooth fairy visited and brought with her a special fairy diary and peanut butter M&M's! I hope she doesn't fly too far away from our home because I assisted Madison pull a tooth as well this morning. I also hope she doesn't go broke with all the teeth being lost in our home lately. I'm thinking she must have a pretty good 401K.
**Do you like my Hydrangeas? They looked so beautiful that I had to make them a permanent photo on the blog.

Another Summer, Another Surgery

Yes, you read it right. Last Tuesday while tumbling at a pro tennis event in King of Prussia, Bill ruptured his achilles tendon. He had surgery on Friday and is recovering on the couch in a cast. We are praying for a speedy recovery. By God's grace, Bill will continue being the mascot but will have to from now on limit his tumbling & dunking. God continues to show us that He is our provider and that there is no thing he has not ordained or allowed for His great purposes. We know that we can only see the partial picture of His great plan for us, so that's where faith comes in. As I type I am reminded of the verse, "Without faith, it is impossible to please God". I am grateful for friends and family who pray (and bring meals)...That has been a tremendous blessing for our family.

Hip-Hop Music or the Rabbit?

I had to post this shot of Madison and her swim team friends during a JV meet. There was music playing & the 3 girls were dancing...too cute. So I grabbed my camera and told the girls to do their best "Hip-Hop" pose. Madison's 2 friends got the idea...then I looked at my daughter, slightly confused. Why does she look like a rabbit? Ah yes...obviously because to her, Hip-Hop is a rabbit...lovingly known as...her dad.

Fantasy Island

We traveled to good ol' Grand Island to visit my family and though the weather was a bit chilly, we had a good time. Here are some shots from Fantasy Island.
