Geo-graphy and Riding Horses

Madison learned geography in Compass last month. It's funny cause she has a hard time saying geography so she breaks up the word and it sounds like...geo-graphy. They created these cool maps to learn the names of geographical landmarks on the earth. She had a blast molding it and painting it and I think it turned out really nice. I also learned what an archipelago was! (I guess I missed that class when I was in school :)

Last weekend when It was so nice, Madison was invited over a friends house for dinner and Bill had a game so I took the 2 little ones to Linvilla. It was so beautiful out...(even though I was feeling pretty crummy from a sinus infection that still lingers). They had pony rides and no one was there so I figured the kids would enjoy it. Matthew's horse was named Daisy and A forgot to ask the name of her horse. Here are the pics.

Why The Bible?

Last weekend, our friends Lloyd & Amy visited us & spent the night. We really enjoyed the sweet fellowship we had that night. Lloyd is in seminary at Liberty University in Virginia and Amy is expecting their first child...Congrats guys!! We can't wait to meet the little one!!
We were discussing the fact that many people have a hard time believing in what the bible says as Truth. He told me about this guy Ravi Zacharias who speaks all over the world and answers really tough questions to very educated people. His response in this video was so clear...and difficult to argue with. He says, "No other piece of literature ever in history matches it". So to all of you intellectuals out there that have a hard time grasping Truth from the bible...you must listen to this guy.

Little A's Growing Up

So I am upstairs in the girls room doing an overhaul...ie. throwing out anything that contributes to clutter. While tossing useless items into a giant bag, Adrienne enters the room & says, "I want to throw Squiggs out".  I could not believe my ears! The haggled little yellow cat with the ragged & frayed tail that Adrienne LOVED since she was 3!?
"What! Why?" I said.
"Because I don't want to suck my thumb anymore...I am a big girl and I don't want to do it."
Wow! This is the same girl that would have nursed until 2 if I let her (she had a good year of nursing but I had to stop otherwise she would have killed me :) and she absolutely LOVES her thumb. Squiggs and the thumb went hand-in-hand. I had to bribe Squiggs out of her hands just so I could wash the thing.
So this was a big step...a decision made all on her own. We are proud of you little A, my big girl!!!

Happy Birthday GeGe!

Have a great birthday mom!
Wish I was there to take you out to lunch.
I asked the kids this morning why they love you & here is what they said.

Madison: "I love Gege because she is caring and a great cook. I love Gege's Famous Soup. She always gives me great hugs and kisses. She always greets us with a big happy smile, it is so nice and warms my heart, especially after a long ride in the car."

Adrienne: "I love her because she's kind and generous. She sets up our beds so nice when we come over...and I love her so much."

Matthew: "I love Gege because she puts bags in da mail for us...and...because...she makes me red jello wid nuffing inside of it."

We love you. Happy Birthday!

The Latest Quick Fix

Our old nursery now guest room/ reading room was in desperate need of a makeover. After Matthew moved into his new room I painted the room with some left over yellow paint, but because the room is so small, the color was a bit overwhelming. I'm not a beige fan. As you can tell from other home improvements, I like colors...bright happy colors. Well I finally caved. I found the fabric first at Joanns and I really liked it, however the only color that would go with it well was beige. So I bought a gallon of "soft suede" at Home Depot, some new blinds at KMart, made some pillows & a valance & voila! All set for my family visiting for Easter! This project wasn't as enjoyable as others because I am sick with a terrible sore throat & fever. I took a nap with Matthew yesterday & was able to finish everything last night before Bill got home from work. Feeling a little better today thanks to a combo of Tylenol & Advil Cold & Sinus. Here are some pics of the room.

This Rabbit Has All the Fun

Here's a nice shot of Hip-Hop meeting the mayor of Philadelphia & making him wear a silly hat to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday.
You get to have all the fun Hip-Hop! And who is that guy looking at you...is that the mayor's bodyguard? He's watching you like..."one slight move bunny...and your mine!"...maybe he's just wondering why your ears are crooked :)
